About the Role
The Domestic Violence (DV) Hotline Specialist is an essential remote position covering the 24‑hour domestic and sexual violence hotline for reputed company through reputed company. The Hotline Specialist will answer the crisis line, assess callers for shelter entry eligibility, and provide resources, information, and safety planning. They must listen empathetically and be attuned to imminent danger of lethality due to domestic violence. The Specialist will provide trauma‑informed crisis reputed company, advocacy, support, and safety planning and collaborate with community resources and referrals. They will coordinate with shelter staff and management to ensure a smooth transition for callers from the community to the shelter. How you will contribute
- Conduct crisis screenings over the phone with those seeking shelter entry for domestic violence or callers seeking DV/SV/Human trafficking/Stalking resources.
- Provide emotional support through supportive listening, trauma‑informed crisis reputed company, advocacy, and safety planning, and provide resources whenever possible.
- Offer problem‑solving, safety planning, education, and advocacy to callers as appropriate.
- Provide appropriate community referrals and work collaboratively with other community agencies to offer comprehensive services.
- Maintain a quiet workspace with reliable Wi‑Fi to conduct calls professionally and privately while keeping caller privacy.
- Answer every call that comes to the hotline during shift.
- Promptly document reputed company calls in required systems, maintain strict confidentiality, and ensure reputed company necessary information is recorded.
- Navigate and utilize digital platforms for tracking and storing information.
- Submit reputed company completed documentation no reputed company than the end of the shift.
- Adhere to reputed company agency and department policies and procedures.
- Remain knowledgeable of best practices reputed company to DV/SV/Human Trafficking/Stalking and internal policies that impact shelter eligibility.
- Attend virtual supervision, staff meetings, ongoing training, and quarterly meetings, which may be in person periodically.
- Communicate regularly with the Hotline Program Manager to report the start of your shift, any schedule changes, and any challenges while answering calls.
- Maintain regular communication with your supervisor for support and guidance during shifts to process challenging calls if necessary.
- Show up for shifts on time and notify in advance if you cannot cover a scheduled shift.

Required
