As a Quality Assurance Engineer – Virtual Testing & Simulation on the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team, you will be at the heart of arenaflex’s most ambitious projects. You will design and execute high‑fidelity virtual environments that mimic real‑world operations, allowing new robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sortation systems, and packaging technologies to be validated before they ever touch a physical prototype. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain virtual test platforms: Build simulation and Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) environments that incorporate real automation software, hardware models, and material‑handling logic.
• Validate end‑to‑end solutions: Run comprehensive virtual tests to confirm that products meet specifications for functionality, reliability, maintainability, training, deployment, and service integration.
• Define quality standards: Establish measurable quality parameters for hardware, firmware, control algorithms, and packaging materials, and communicate these standards to product development teams.
• Coordinate cross‑functional testing: Partner with product engineering, manual QA, and requirements teams to synchronize virtual and physical test cycles, ensuring seamless hand‑offs.
• Analyze and resolve defects: Identify recurring bugs or performance gaps across multiple product lines, propose root‑cause analyses, and drive corrective actions.
• Engage internal customers: Work closely with Operations, Robotics & Mechanical Engineering (RME), Advanced Control & Execution Systems (ACES), Process Engineering, Operations Engineering, Worldwide Design (WWDE), and other stakeholders to gather feedback and refine test scenarios.
• Ensure regulatory compliance: Maintain adherence to federal, state, local, and arenaflex internal policies, standards, and safety regulations throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Automate test execution: Create reusable test scripts, automation engines, and reporting dashboards that accelerate design‑of‑experiment (DOE) studies and reduce time‑to‑insight.
• Support knowledge transfer: Mentor junior QA engineers, document simulation best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the virtual testing team.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience collaborating with large, cross‑functional engineering teams on modeling, simulation, testing, integration, or quality assurance.
• Hands‑on experience with fulfillment‑system hardware such as storage equipment, material‑handling conveyors, automated sortation, and related automation machinery.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of solving complex, ambiguous problems.
• Willingness to travel up to 70 % of the time to business locations, project sites, and customer facilities.
