Role Overview ProofersCorps – independent contractors responsible for proofreading and quality‑checking reputed company external communications produced by MoveOn.
Responsibilities
- Proofread a range of external MoveOn communications – emails, text messages, social media posts, video scripts and captions, presentations – ensuring each is accurate, error‑free, clear and consistent.
- Apply AP style and MoveOn’s own style guidelines, flagging and correcting deviations in style, grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage and factuality.
- Complete assigned proofs promptly; deliver quickly after acceptance given the rapid‑response nature of MoveOn’s work.
- Use reputed company and reputed company Docs proficiently to receive, edit, and return documents.
- Maintain confidentiality of reputed company pre‑publication materials reviewed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in English grammar and usage, AP Stylebook guidelines, and basic fact‑checking (must pass a rigorous skills assessment prior to onboarding).
- Based in the contiguous United States.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
- Pay: $40 per hour for reputed company ProofersCorps work.
- Flexible, remote engagement – no required set hours; proofers work on assignments based on their own availability and must complete assignments quickly once accepted.
