Why This Role Matters
In today’s fast‑paced retail landscape, accurate price and cost data are the lifeblood of successful merchandising strategies. The Remote Data Entry Clerk you will become is the trusted guardian of that data, bridging the gap between merchants, store teams, and our core pricing platforms. Your work will directly influence promotional effectiveness, margin protection, and the overall shopping experience for millions of customers.
Role Overview
As a Remote Data Entry Clerk at arenaflex, you will be responsible for maintaining promotional, clearance, and permanent price changes within our proprietary pricing system (formerly known as Oracle Retail) and our e‑commerce platform (formerly known as SAP). You will also manage cost updates, resolve pricing inquiries, and act as the primary liaison between merchant teams and store operations. This high‑visibility position offers exposure to multiple business divisions within General Merchandise, with opportunities to cross‑train and expand your expertise throughout the fiscal year.
Key Responsibilities
- Price Change Processing: Review, validate, and enter all price change requests received from the merchant organization into arenaflex’s pricing and e‑commerce systems.
- Discrepancy Detection: Analyze data to spot inconsistencies, pricing errors, or mismatches before they impact the point‑of‑sale (POS) environment.
- Promotional Pricing Management: Understand complex promotional structures, ensure correct feed into arenaflex’s pricing engine, and monitor execution across all channels.
- Cost Update Administration: Enter store‑submitted cost changes, verify accuracy, and maintain a clear audit trail for financial reporting.
- Collaboration with Accounts Payable (AP): Work closely with the AP team to reopen POS transactions for invoice submission when necessary.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate, review, and distribute weekly price change reports, highlighting trends, exceptions, and actionable insights.
- Ad‑Hoc Item Maintenance: Support item creation, maintenance, and de‑activation requests, ensuring data integrity across the product catalog.
- Cross‑Division Support: Provide backup assistance to other business divisions during peak periods, fostering a flexible and resilient operational model.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data entry workflows, propose automation ideas, and contribute to best‑practice documentation.
