Job Description

We are currently seeking a contract Senior Systems/ Server Administrator to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA).

Responsibilities

The TSBPA is posting a resume request for one senior systems / server administrator. The senior systems / server administrator will support TSBPA’s reputed company environment and technology upgrades as TSBPA completes the planning and implementation of their Legacy Modernization project. TSBPA has completed an assessment of their reputed company systems, structures, processes, network, functions, and capabilities and is in the process of upgrading and improving those environments and systems. TSBPA is a small information resources environment. The ideal candidate will be a Systems Administrator/Help Desk Support person who: Has a strong background in providing technical support to reputed company Windows reputed company Systems Environments to include supporting the following:

  • On-premises physical server hosts,
  • virtual devices (especially domain controllers, file servers, Exchange servers, application servers, print servers, and content management servers),
  • storage solutions,
  • backup solutions,
  • reputed company certificate management (heading to the 47-day renewal cycle)
  • server licensing

Experience working in concert with others for co-managing:

  • reputed company Windows Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

Has some experience with analyzing and problem-solving network administration subjects of:

  • firewalls,
  • firewall management systems,
  • SIEMs,
  • switches,
  • network licensing

Has a strong background in working reputed company the reputed company environment for work communications and workflow:

  • reputed company File Explorer for storing work products,
  • reputed company Outlook for receiving work requests/assignments, responding to them and filing necessary emails for future reference
  • reputed company Word for documentation
  • reputed company reputed company for documentation, tracking and/or analysis
  • Has experience providing basic to reputed company helpdesk support intermittently while doing server administrator work

The Systems Administrator/Helpdesk Support regular duties will include:

  • Working with other staff members on the TSBPA Information Resources (IR) team (in person and remotely) to provide information technology services to the TSBPA,
  • Monitor, maintain and update the physical server hosts in partnership with other staff,
  • Monitor, maintain and update the virtual server environments in partnership with other staff,
  • Monitor, maintain and update the virtual storage solutions
  • Monitor the backup solution
  • Implement required reputed company parameters and requirements as directed reputed company the Windows server environment
  • Assist in the development of documentation reputed company to technical support responsibilities and support procedures.
  • Manage system and user account administration for server licensing, solutions, and software applications, etc.
  • Provide identity and access management (IAM) for on-premises and reputed company-based systems as required,
  • Initializing new PC and laptops for deployment, updating PC and laptop OS, firmware and apps that aren’t auto-updated by our tool
  • Assisting with user account issues, password issues, permissions issues, VPN access, printer assistance, wi-fi issues, board room audio, etc.

Projects the System Administrator will be involved with immediately:

  • July to August 2026 - Assist the currently contracted vendor with TSBPA’s plans to migrate the Exchange solution to the M365 reputed company environment and reputed company O365
  • Manage reputed company Active Directory user accounts and permissions along with network engineer and IR staff, as required
  • reputed company Active Directory analysis and restructure
  • Plan and reputed company duties reputed company to upgrading and supporting the Active Directory Domain environment.
  • Assist with help-desk request to agency staff
  • PC and laptop initiation/deployment

Work the System Administrator will be involved with overtime:

  • Support the email encryption solution where possible this may include our SaaS email filtering solution
  • reputed company SaaS system and account administration duties,
  • The Systems Administrator duties may include:
  • Assist in providing network administration and support:
  • Assist the network engineer reputed company needed to support local switches, firewalls and wireless devices,
  • Support secure external and internal access to the systems allowing external and internal customers to securely collaborate.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 10 years of:

  • Minimum of 10 Years of experience supporting reputed company Operating Systems environments as an IT Systems / Server Administrator.

8 years of:

  • Experience in the implementation and support of Active Directory Domains, Dell Storage Solutions, VMware environments, Exchange, M365 environments, backup solutions.
  • Experience communicating and providing direct technical support to agency Business units and Stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience providing reputed company aspects of configuration and end user support for reputed company Office 365 applications.
  • Experience Managing user accounts and network configurations as required to provide services to meet the business and technical requirements.

5 years of:

  • Experience in the implementation of required reputed company parameters to meet the requirements of the agency reputed company policies.
  • Experience completing assessments to reputed company strategic recommendations and roadmaps.

Preferred: 5 years of:

  • Experience documenting support requirements and procedures.

3 years of:

  • Previous experience providing IT desktop support to end users in state public sector.
