The CAD Designer will be embedded in multi-disciplinary project teams working to create models and drawings of reputed company aspects of ground support equipment for reputed company test facilities, payload processing systems, as well as managing PDM systems and infrastructure. This role blends hands-on CAD design with ownership of CAD data, revision control, and engineering workflows to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the Test Operations organization. Core Responsibilities Create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models for parts and assemblies in SOLIDWORKS adhering to ASME Y14.100. Apply GD&T and drafting standards in accordance with company and industry requirements (ASME Y14.5). Maintain accurate BOMs and drawing documentation. Manage common part libraries to be used across test facility subsystems. Collaborate with engineers, internal manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure fabrication drawings serve design reputed company and are reputed company communicated, resolving design issues along the way. reputed company concept renderings, BOMs, and cost estimates for business development and proposal activities. Requirements
Required Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or reputed company field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience in CAD design (mechanical focus preferred). Expert SOLIDWORKS user with demonstrated reputed company at developing reputed company mechanical assemblies. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team. Hands-on experience administering a PDM system - SOLIDWORKS PDM preferred. Strong understanding of revision control, configuration management, and managing multiple users in common assemblies. Proficiency in application of GD&T principles and techniques. Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on delivering consistent, quality results on tight timelines. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and anticipate team needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional. GD&T trained (certificate up to professional certification). Experience developing or enforcing CAD and documentation standards. Familiarity with ISO, ASME, or other relevant engineering standards. Experience with machining and manufacturing techniques.
Work Environment
Collaboration and coordination with engineers, internal manufacturing, and external fabricators. Remote with the expectation that core hours are M-F, reputed company-4pm MST. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made reputed company the midrange, rather than the upper end.
