Part-time Teacher - Remote | WFH
Job Summary Are you passionate about education and helping students achieve their goals? Do you have a proven track record of teaching ELA to high school or older students? Would you enjoy a flexible schedule, working with students as needed rather than on a set, daily schedule... You will serve as a trusted advisor, fostering meaningful connections with individuals aged 22 and up who aspire to earn their high school diploma through our fully online adult education program. You will be overseeing, tutoring, and providing feedback to students in Core ELA and Social Studies courses, as well as various elective courses. With a focus on ensuring each student's needs are met, you will provide personalized support and expert guidance to help students complete their graduation requirements successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Remote Work Success: Efficiently manage your time, communicate in a friendly, encouraging, and effective manner, and collaborate seamlessly in a virtual environment. Build rapport effortlessly, actively listen, and communicate complex information clearly and concisely to aid student learning while upholding academic integrity. Content Expertise: Understand the adult learner journey and possess the skills to nurture learning in ELA, Social Studies, and elective areas. Serve as the Teacher of Record for assigned courses. Technological Savvy: Confidently navigate Google Suite and other tools to manage data, collaborate, and facilitate learning in an online environment. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree Valid Arizona Teacher Certificate (Secondary-Grades 6-12 Certificate, STEM Certificate, Subject Matter Expert Certificate, CTE Certificate, or Alternative Teaching Certificate) Passing score on an approved Subject Knowledge Exam (Math or ELA or area approved by the Administrator for Academic Programs) 1+ years of online teaching experience Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Desirable Adult Online Teaching Experience Bi-Lingual Licensing Requirements Must have or be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
