Role Overview In this role, you will contribute significantly to the academic success of students by addressing their learning challenges and enhancing their study skills. Regular meetings with students will allow you to provide tailored support, including reviewing materials, discussing textbooks, and aiding with problem-solving strategies... Key Responsibilities ? Offer scheduled and on-demand tutoring services for students. ? Provide tutoring for students in developmental and general education courses. ? Develop materials for learning communities and reading circles as needed. ? Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and related activities. ? Uphold academic integrity during all tutoring sessions. ? Share feedback on the usage of the Student Success Center. ? Participate in training sessions as organized by the Academic area. ? With student consent, communicate any concerns regarding student progress to appropriate personnel. ? Collaborate with other tutoring staff to coordinate services for students. ? Foster a motivating and engaging learning environment. ? Create activities during mid-terms and finals weeks. ? Optionally mentor one or more students. ? Assist with classroom setup and course management for remote classes. ? Effectively utilize technology such as Zoom and campus management systems. ? Perform additional duties as assigned. An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. ? A minimum 3.0 GPA and sophomore-level standing in higher education for student or peer applicants, along with a faculty recommendation. ? Proven proficiency in tutoring across various subjects. ? Familiarity with computer tutorials and technology-based learning resources. ? Strong communication skills with the ability to present material clearly. ? Understanding of effective tutoring practices. ? Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. ? Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment. ? Strong organizational and time management skills. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry. ? Dependable with a solid record of regular and timely attendance. ? Willingness to agree to and sign a statement of Evangelical Covenant Affirmations. ? Ability to pass a background check. Working Conditions This role is based in an office setting, primarily involving computer work with limited exposure to hazardous materials. Good visual acuity is necessary for effective job performance. Dress Code Business casual attire is appropriate for the office. Clean and well-maintained jeans are permitted.
