This can help customers feel like they are being treated as individuals rather than numbers, and can also lead to more efficient problem-solving and conflict resolution. • Achieve and uphold insight into the store's products and have the skill to respond to inquiries and provide valuable guidance regarding the available products. • Accountable for maintaining a noticeable presence, displaying affability, and being proactive in greeting, interacting with, and assisting clients. • Our mission is to process customer transactions at the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently, to ensure that our customers leave satisfied. • It is important to comply with the scheduled operating hours in the shift plan. • Confirm the correct payment has been made for the merchandise; provide accurate change; handle checks, credit and debit charges according to the proper departmental procedures for paperwork and the performance of duties. • Develop a sound knowledge of the Point of Sale system to efficiently handle various payment methods, rain checks, intricate loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy. • Transfer goods to the register by gliding the merchandise over the scanning surface, utilizing a handheld scanner, or inputting the information manually using the 10-key pad to record the sale. • Make certain to comprehend and comply with the company's procedures for cash handling to prevent losses and engage in honest work practices. • Understand and observe the regulations regarding the sale of restricted items such as Fireworks, Tobacco, Alcohol, and Videos. • Combat inventory loss by following established protocols, such as carefully inspecting the bottom of baskets, scanning all merchandise to ensure accurate inventory counts, avoiding manual transactions, and promptly completing closing procedures. • Achieving productivity objectives by efficiently handling transactions within the allotted time. • Keep in line with the company's policy by raising any concerns related to pricing discrepancies to the relevant department. • Stay up-to-date about the latest, forthcoming, seasonal, and exclusive advertisements. • Inform customers about all the company directives, such as Kroger Personal Finance, fuel points, customer service surveys, and fundraising requests, as part of your customer service responsibilities. • Wiping down all surfaces of the checkout area plays a vital role in showcasing a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene for customers. • Fortify safety programs by strictly following safety procedures and identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions, and promptly notifying store management of such hazards. • Ensure that management is informed immediately about any accidents involving customers or employees. • The reporting of safety risks and illegal activities, including robbery, theft or fraud, is paramount for maintaining a safe working environment. • To avoid any potential legal issues, it is crucial to comply with all local, state, and federal laws, and adhere to the protocols put in place by the company. • It is fundamental to ensure the strict compliance with all the existing protocols with regard to the proper display of merchandise, first-rate customer service, intelligent cash management, labor management, effective supply chain management, loss prevention, appropriate maintenance, safety and food hygiene, staff conduct, and engaging with customers. • Regardless of the availability of accommodations, the holder of this position must be capable of executing its essential requirements.
