Job Overview We are seeking a committed and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual support for an elementary student during the 2024-2025 academic year. Key Responsibilities Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation for an elementary student in a virtual learning context. Promote effective communication between the student, educators, and classmates using American Sign Language (ASL). Ensure that all instructional materials and discussions are accessible to the student. Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all educational scenarios. Collaborate with teachers to support the students learning and growth. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and assist in evaluating student progress as needed. Required Skills Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Capacity to work independently and effectively manage time in a remote environment. Qualifications EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required. Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in virtual interpretation. Candidates must have successfully completed the written examination for sign language interpretation.
