The Healthcare Claims Processor will actively support our healthcare client by processing and/or adjusting typical and non-typical healthcare claims and appeals. • Perform extensive research to process and/or adjust healthcare claims and appeals. • Use multiple healthcare-related operating systems and tracking tools simultaneously. • Occasionally encounter non-typical healthcare claims. • Actively utilize critical thinking skills to determine when to seek advice or escalate issues. • Provide excellent customer service to claimants’ inquiries via phone. Basic Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • Must live within a 45-mile radius of Knoxville, TN. • 1 year of professional work experience with solid tenure in each role. • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. • Strong computer proficiency focusing on multiple systems input. • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions regarding the decision to pay or deny claims. • Excellent reading comprehension due to the high volume of data required to complete the claims process. • Data entry skills. • Previous billing experience. Bonus Points If You Have: • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field. • 1 year of Medical Claims processing experience. • Knowledge and experience in any workstream of US healthcare.
