Job title: Bookkeeper Company: Hope For Bereaved, Inc. Job description: HOPE for Bereaved, Inc. is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Responsibilities: • Maintaining accurate and complete set of financial records in a manner consistent with accepted accounting and bookkeeping practices • Recording all day-to-day financial transactions and operations; appropriate expenditure of annual funds, appropriate handling, maintenance, and distribution of funds with appropriate signatures, preparation and distribution of routine financial statements and reports • Matching payments to existing contracts and agreements • Settling and submitting payroll, and related taxes as required by law • Assist Board Treasure in drafting an annual budget for Board approval • Provide financial reports as requested by the Board Treasurer • Tracking of inventory • Timely payment to vendors • Prepare for annual review and annual filing of 990 form • Banking of monies received • Maintains and updates accounting software and file backup • Prepares and maintains employee benefits • To keep confidential all financial contribution information • Answers phones/relays phone messages when all other personnel are unavailable • Performs clerical and other duties as required Shifts: • Part-Time. Flexible. Must be available during some banking hours for deposits.
