About the Role
Southwest Airlines is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team of technology professionals. This role involves designing, developing, and managing cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and automation tools. As part of a collaborative team, you will help shape the future of technology for Southwest Airlines, ensuring secure and efficient cloud operations. While this is a remote position, periodic travel for training sessions, team meetings, and company events may be required. Note that candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming are ineligible for this role.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Development: Design and build enterprise-level cloud automation frameworks, pipelines, and capabilities. Collaborate with application, security, and architecture teams to create reusable, secure infrastructure. Team Collaboration: Work in a DevOps environment to lead the design, development, and deployment of new technology platforms. Act as a subject matter expert, providing design reviews and guidance on cloud infrastructure best practices. Automation and Security: Implement automation tools and frameworks for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and maintain monitoring tools to ensure system performance. Business Continuity: Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity processes. Test and deploy system enhancements while preserving system integrity. Quality Assurance: Establish and adhere to high standards for project quality and deliverables. Conduct system testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and seamless integration.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of AWS frameworks, including cloud automation tools such as CloudFormation. Expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and monitoring tools. Understanding of emerging trends in cloud computing and their application to enterprise solutions. Soft Skills: Ability to lead a team in identifying and solving cross-domain issues. Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities for team development. Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address business challenges.
