ACT Tutor (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated ACT Tutor to provide one-on-one and small group instruction to high school students preparing for the ACT. As a Remote ACT Tutor, you will deliver engaging and personalized tutoring sessions via video conferencing platforms, helping students achieve their target ACT scores and improve their college admission prospects. Additionally, experience as a College Board ACT Exam Grader/Reader is a plus, as it provides valuable insight into scoring criteria, exam expectations, and test-taking strategies, enabling students to maximize their performance. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Personalized Instruction – Tailor teaching methods to meet each student's needs and learning style, focusing on ACT English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing sections.
• Create and Implement Lesson Plans – Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with students' goals and the ACT curriculum.
• Administer & Review Practice Tests – Assign, proctor, and analyze ACT practice tests, offering detailed feedback and strategies for improvement.
• Track Student Progress – Regularly assess students' performance and adjust instruction as needed to help them stay on track.
• Motivate and Support Students – Encourage students to stay focused, confident, and motivated throughout their ACT preparation journey.
• Communicate with Parents/Guardians – Provide regular updates on student progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Stay Updated on ACT Changes – Keep up with the latest ACT format, content updates, and test strategies to ensure students receive current and effective instruction.

Qualifications:

• Experience – Minimum of 2 years of ACT tutoring experience, either in-person or remotely. Strong familiarity with the ACT exam format, content, and test-taking strategies.
• Education – Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or teaching certifications are a plus.
• Technical Skills – Proficiency in using online tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and digital educational tools.
• Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
• Availability – Flexible availability to accommodate students in different time zones. Weekend and evening hours may be required.
• Passion for Education – A genuine interest in helping students succeed, with a patient and encouraging teaching approach.
• ACT Exam Grader/Reader Experience is a Plus – Prior experience grading ACT exams provides valuable insights into scoring and test strategies, helping students optimize their performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven Success – A track record of helping students significantly improve their ACT scores.
• Adaptability – Ability to work with students of varying abilities and backgrounds, adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
• Test Prep Expertise – Familiarity with other standardized tests (SAT, PSAT) is a plus.
