Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a skilled litigation associate to join its Insurance & Reinsurance practice in Boston, MA. This role offers the chance to work alongside industry leaders in a collaborative and innovative environment, providing representation and counsel to clients on complex litigation matters in the insurance and reinsurance space. Duties • Represent and advise insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries in coverage disputes, reinsurance matters, and regulatory investigations. • Handle complex litigation issues, including cases involving environmental liability, construction defects, asbestos, opioids, workers’ compensation, toxic torts, and other mass tort claims. • Engage in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery materials, as well as conducting depositions and oral arguments. • Collaborate with team members to develop legal strategies tailored to client needs. • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and actionable advice on ongoing matters. Requirements • 3-6 years of substantive litigation experience, specifically in insurance and reinsurance-related matters. • Familiarity with complex legal disputes, including coverage claims and regulatory investigations, is strongly preferred. • Outstanding technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Exceptional written and verbal communication, advocacy, and negotiation abilities. • A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration. • Admission to the bar in Massachusetts and/or Connecticut, with active and good standing. Education • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar is required.
