Full-Stack Software Engineer (L4) - Workforce Security Controls Automation Team (WCAT)

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time. About the Team The Workforce Controls Automation Team (WCAT) builds the software products and services that help us scale security controls in our workforce security domain. We build services that aggregate key security information, produce security impact insights, ease manual toil and right-size risky cases automatically. We keep our workforce users at the heart of how we work, and aim to meet them where they are with contextualized guidance and transparency about security control changes. About the role WCAT is looking for an experienced full-stack product engineer. You will drive product development, focusing on building data-informed, high-fidelity approaches to understanding and scaling vendor security. You will craft effective experiences that meet users where they are to reduce risk, while promoting appropriate usage of design patterns and testing strategies across the stack. Responsibilities include building front-end user interfaces, backend services that support the front-end, data pipelines, product prototyping, and general work across the product life cycle. In your role, you will work on products that help us scale our understanding of our vendor landscape within Netflix, and deliver security guidance to internal customers and stakeholders with an emphasis on effectively surfacing context to drive down risk and toil. You will work cross-functionally with partner teams and stakeholders, including software and security engineers, product managers, and internal workforce customers. Prior security experience is not required, though you should be interested to learn about the security landscape at Netflix, and work on security-related products. We are looking for stunning colleagues who enable our mission and support our culture. You should have: • Experience building products with Javascript (Node/React) and/or Python • Strong full-stack development skills and a history of shaping end-to-end solutions, with a focus on crafting effective UIs, and data-heavy applications • A drive to understand “why” first, to inform your approach decisions • Familiarity with overall system design and architecture, and how to progressively improve software You will succeed in this role if you: • Believe a diverse and inclusive team is a critical aspect of a sustainable and effective work environment • Value a deeply collaborative team • Use data to inform your judgement, and to support and communicate your decisions • Empathize with your customers, and have an interest in the overall product lifecycle • Effectively communicate complex subjects to our internal customers and partners • Challenge status quo, and seek to find novel and customer-centric ways to solve problems • Enjoy taking full ownership of open-ended problems, from concept to product, including effective management of your own time • Care about improving the systems around you, and leaving things better than you found them Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here. Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here. Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
