Pepsico is hiring for Freight Loader The Freight Loader is responsible for manually arranging products onto pallets for transit on bulk and route trucks. Ensuring accuracy in loading and unloading trucks is crucial, and this involves operating equipment like forklifts and electronic pallet jacks. Following instructions from electronic order systems or order sheets assists in the smooth execution of tasks. Responsibilities mainly revolve around overseeing loading accuracy and following shipping and receiving documentation precisely. Maintaining a clean and safe work area, being adaptable to different weather conditions, and adjusting shift lengths depending on the workload are key aspects of this role. Primary Responsibilities: ? Truck Loading: Truck Loading comprises the activity of moving complete pallets of goods onto trailers, eliminating returned pallets, and loading bulk truck packages. ? Raw Material Handling: The process of raw material handling includes unloading and storing materials in specified warehouse areas. ? Pallet Building: Pick required product bundles from storage, organize them on pallets, wrap with shrink-wrap, and load onto trailers for transportation. ? Customer-Specific Loading: Modifying the loading operations to suit the orders made by salespersons for deliveries via route trucks. ? Unloading: Clear out returned goods and pallets/plastic flats from delivery trucks. ? Physical Requirements: Frequently transport crates of merchandise weighing 20-45 lbs. during the work hours. The position requires consistent standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping movements. Primary Job Accountabilities: ? Operate power pallet jacks or forklifts to pick and load goods following load sheets or voice-pick audio equipment guidance. ? Flag tickets for items that are unavailable for purchase. ? Once the pallets are fully packed, wrap them securely for transportation. ? Prior to loading, ensure that paperwork is submitted with orders for authentication purposes. ? Prepare pallets for loading onto trucks. ? Unify partial pallet contents and arrange diverse pallet combinations in storage areas. ? Follow guidelines to ensure tidiness in the designated work space. ? Maintain a routine of dependable, trustworthy, and expected presence. Basic Qualifications: ? Anyone below the age of 18 is ineligible. Preferred Experience: ? Familiarity with warehouse duties like order picking, merchandise storage, staging for transportation, and the operation of motorized pallet jacks or forklifts based on practical experience. ? Proficient in the essential aspects of forklift operation, encompassing forward and reverse driving, managing the boom's height, and adeptly navigating tight areas. ? Ability to operate racking systems effectively and manage pallets during loading/unloading activities (placing and retrieving pallets on racking systems and trucks). ? Engaging in cooperative efforts, solving problems collectively, and working as a team are all components of teamwork experience.
