Structural Steel Estimator

? *Job Overview:** Estimator: Candidate must have strong communication skills, be comfortable multi-tasking, have experience and demonstrate proficiency working with Microsoft Office, Plan Swift (or similar), Blue Beam (or similar). This position will require the individual to possess solid verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented and highly organized. The desired candidate will work with the preconstruction team in continuing to establish and foster positive long-term relationships with our clients and construction partners. This position will professionally represent BCS and support Company initiatives that will continue to exceed the expectations of our clients and construction partners. Work with the preconstruction team to develop accurate and detailed project estimates, budgets, scopes of work as well as coordinate various tasks to include but not limited to the following; Produce complete, accurate, detailed steel bid packages. Analyze blueprints and documentation to make estimates for time. Build strong customer and vendor relationships throughout jobs and various communications Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Computes cost by analyzing shop labor, detailing labor and material requirements Check fabrication drawings for the shop Ensure timely completion of estimates to meet demanding bid schedules Assists project team with pricing issues on major project revisions We are seeking candidates that possess drive and determination with experience in the following; Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience Hands on shop and field knowledge Proficiency in reading architectural and structural drawings a must Viewpoint, Tekla, PowerFab, Blue Beam and Excel computer skills is highly desirable A strong work ethic and a ?can-do? attitude is a must If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for construction estimating and possess the necessary skills to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply.
