This team supports the enterprise's corporate communications and other functional support areas in enhancing the company’s reputation with key stakeholders, including employees, consumers, prospective talent, and the press. Role Overview As the Sr Specialist Employee Communications, you will assist in developing, executing, and tracking a wide range of internal communications projects and campaigns that inspire and inform a multi-national, multi-lingual workforce of 200+ thousand Disney employees. In this role, you will have an opportunity to contribute to every stage of internal communications programming from creative ideation to strategic implementation for a variety of internal partners, including international offices and corporate functional support teams. You’ll interview employees, develop promotional campaigns, and advise on the best communication vehicles to reach employees. This position will also support employee communications in the event of inclement weather or other crisis event. To excel in this position, you will need to be a strong writer and communicator with a passion for the employee experience. Exceptional organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail, and the curiosity to learn about diverse businesses are important in this role. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategic communications plans in service of various corporate support functions and regional partners (e.g., toolkits, templates, calendars, FAQs, etc.)
  • Assist with the development and sustainment of internal crisis communications response playbook
  • Research, write, and publish engaging content and articles for internal vehicles – including emails, newsletters, videos, presentations, signage and more
  • Interview employees and write articles about their unique employee experience
  • Partner with stakeholders from various corporate functions (technology, security, facilities, etc.) to integrate key messages into enterprise communications vehicles
  • Draft and maintain editorial and engagement calendars for clients while tracking internal and external holidays and events
  • Work with leadership to help track and mitigate ongoing issues that may impact the employee experience
  • Provide support to team members with any other communications-related projects, including editing copy, trafficking requests, gathering data and analytics, and executing against plans
  • Assist with planning and execution of remote and in-person events and activations, as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in communications, public relations, or marketing coordination, including internal/employee communications experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with maturity and confidence in working with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to translate complex concepts and ideas into concise and engaging content
  • Ability to adapt written tone/style for a variety of audiences
  • Experience pitching stories, interviewing employees, and writing content that aligns with business objectives
  • Experience contributing to the development of strategic communications plans and toolkits
  • Experience tracking communications metrics and providing basic analysis to improve engagement rates
  • Excellent grammar skills and confidence with copy editing/proofreading
  • Organized, detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Flexible, responsive and a multi-tasking team player who is willing to pitch in to help the team meet critical deadlines
  • Positive attitude, personable and approachable, self-motivated
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Excel and Outlook

Required Education

  • BA or BS required, preferably with a background in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both internal and external communications
  • Experience working on a global team with stakeholders outside of the U.S.
  • Interest in technology, security, and other operational functions
  • Experience with video production and/or digital design
  • Basic understanding of design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Proficiency with content management systems (WordPress, etc.)
  • Event planning or coordination experience

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $82,400 to $113,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
