The Underwriting Manager will oversee the underwriting process for loan applications, ensuring that all loans are assessed accurately and in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, a thorough understanding of underwriting guidelines, and the capacity to work effectively in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Underwriting Oversight: Oversee the underwriting process for all loan applications, ensuring that each application is reviewed thoroughly and in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and maintain underwriting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency in loan evaluations.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular reviews of underwriting decisions and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company guidelines.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with loan applications, providing recommendations to mitigate those risks and ensuring sound lending practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as loan processing, sales, and servicing, to facilitate smooth loan transactions and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on underwriting performance, trends, and issues to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and changes, ensuring that underwriting practices remain compliant with all applicable laws and guidelines.
• Client Interaction: Address and resolve complex underwriting issues or escalations, providing clear and effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5years of experience in underwriting
• Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and industry regulations.
• Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing underwriting teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and senior management.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining productivity and high-quality standards.
