Part-Time Accounting Clerk

Department: Finance Reports To: Manager, Financial Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Location: Remote Schedule: Part-Time with flexible hours of 25 hours per week, 9-5 CST, Monday - Friday Position Summary: The Part-Time Accounting Clerk will support the Financial Operations team by performing a variety of accounting, administrative, and clerical tasks. This position is responsible for accurate data entry, posting transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with various finance department related functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, organized, and comfortable using various software applications to complete daily responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform calculations and enter financial data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Post financial transactions and maintaining up-to-date records in accounting systems
  • Assist with invoice preparation, billing, payments, and reconciliations
  • Support the distribution and tracking of funding notices and related documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and supporting documentation
  • Prepare simple reports and summaries using Excel and other tools
  • Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as assigned by the Finance team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in an accounting or clerical support role preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting or payment platforms (e.g., Javelina, Zelis, VPAY) is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to take direction and support various members of the finance team
