As a Part-Time Adjunct Teacher, you will play an integral role in grading student work and providing timely, constructive feedback to enhance the students learning experience. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic development.Key Responsibilities: 1.Create a Positive Learning Environment: a.Cultivate a positive and encouraging atmosphere for students, fostering a love for learning and active engagement.2.Identify and Provide Additional Support: a.Collaborate with students to identify areas requiring additional support and provide targeted feedback and assistance to help students improve in those areas.3.Grading and Feedback: a.Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback on student work, adhering to the appropriate Service-Learning Agreements. (answer email and phone messages in 24 hours, short answer and quiz grading in 48 hours, longer term projects and essays in 72 hours)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1.Technical Proficiency: a.Demonstrated computer skills in online education, including familiarity with virtual learning platforms and related tools. b.Ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technology skills to enhance the teaching and learning experience.2.Communication and Persuasion: a.Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and instructions to students, fostering a clear understanding of the coursework. b.Persuasive skills to motivate and encourage students to complete assignments, promoting proactive participation. 3.Expectation Management: a.Ability to set and maintain high expectations related to student performance, inspiring students to strive for academic excellence. 4.Professionalism: a.Professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with students, colleagues, and stakeholders, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment Qualifications: 1.Valid Washington teaching certificate in any high school discipline-multiple certifications is a plus. 2.Bachelors degree in education. 3.Previous experience in grading and providing feedback in a virtual environment is a plus. 4.Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high quality grading standards. 5.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 6.Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote setting. 7.Tech-savvy and proficient in using online learning platforms and digital tools.Schedule: This is a part-time position with flexible hours, allowing you to create a work schedule that accommodates your commitments.
