Job Description
A telecom and fiber company is seeking an Optical Network Engineer to be responsible for designing, link engineering and implementing new success based capacity onto the existing DWDM network. The Network Engineer II, Optical is also responsible for effectively communicating with internal order management personnel and various internal teams on the progress of the capacity fulfillment. Design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment throughout the U.S and Canada. Design DWDM network per Network Architectures standards and future growth of our network and customer base. Implement circuit designs for the core of the network as needed. Provide direction in the circuit design function of the Engineering Department for orders with transport and facilities required to meet identified circuit requirements. Review capacity request for correctness and clarifies any design related items back to the responsible departments. Skills And Requirements 3+ years Optical Network Engineer experience Inventory Management System expertise, preferably with MetaSolv M6 DWDM equipment expertise Experience with Optical Systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, Nokia. Working knowledge of optical systems and signal flow designs through fixed or flex grid networks using ROADM technology.
