The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permit requirements, along with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities •? ?Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate •? ?Track permit status and maintain detailed records of all submissions and communications •? ?Coordinate with government agencies, reviewers, and municipal departments to facilitate permit approvals •? ?Identify and resolve potential obstacles in the permit approval process •? ?Review construction documents and plans to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations •? ?Maintain relationships with key contacts at various permitting agencies •? ?Provide regular status updates to project teams and management •? ?Develop and maintain permit tracking systems and processes •? ?Research and stay current on local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements Required Qualifications •? ?3+ years of experience as a permit expediter or similar role •? ?Thorough knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements •? ?Strong understanding of construction documents and architectural drawings •? ?Excellent organizational and time management skills •? ?Superior written and verbal communication abilities •? ?Proven track record of successfully obtaining permits for various project types •? ?Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permit tracking software •? ?Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications •? ?Background in construction, architecture, engineering, or related field •? ?Experience with multiple jurisdictions and municipalities •? ?Knowledge of special use permits, variances, and zoning changes •? ?Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements •? ?Previous experience with commercial and/or residential construction projects Required Skills & Attributes •? ?Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities •? ?Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor •? ?Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously •? ?Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills •? ?Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues •? ?Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Work Environment & Physical Requirements •? ?Primary work location in office environment with frequent visits to municipal offices •? ?May require occasional site visits to project locations •? ?Must be able to carry and transport documents and plans •? ?Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Compensation •? ?Competitive salary commensurate with experience Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $20.00 - $75.00 per hour Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday Experience: • Permit Expediter: 3 years (Required) Work Location: Remote Apply Job!
