Eagle Point School District 9 - Travel Southern Oregon - Position Details: Title: Special Education Instructional Assistant - 7 hrs/day Placement (location): Eagle Point High School Supervisor: Principal or designee Contract Days: 179 days/year to beginSeptember 5, 2023 Salary Range: $17.96-$25.53 per hour depending upon verified, previous full time experience in similar position Closing Date: Open until filled with screening to begin as soon as possible Description: Special Education Instructional Assistants are responsible for providing, under the guidance and direction of a classroom teacher, instruction and tutoring on various subjects to students with emotional, physical, behavioral or mental disabilities in assigned special education programs. Assists in monitoring students, maintaining a clean and orderly learning environment to ensure the health and safety of students; assists in cleaning and straightening the classroom; assists with student personal hygiene and grooming needs including toileting, eating, changing diapers and clothes in the event of accidents. General Expectations: The ideal applicant will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to Mathematics. A desire to collaborate with other educators, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever changing needs of our students is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using a variety of pedagogical and assessment tools, have a passion for educating ALL STUDENTS, and a willingness to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting.
