We are seeking an exceptional Program Director to lead our General Surgery Residency Program at the Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of surgeons and contributing to the advancement of medical education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership and direction for the General Surgery Residency Program
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum designs, instructional materials, and assessment strategies
• Mentor and advise residents, providing guidance on their academic and professional development
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and belonging
• Contribute to the growth and development of the College of Medicine, including participation in strategic planning and community engagement initiatives

Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution, with credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
• Significant teaching experience and demonstrated teaching excellence, with a focus on general surgery and its sub-specialties
• Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure, with active or eligible American Board of General Surgery (ABMS) board certification in General Surgery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, residents, faculty, and staff
