A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make:

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to support process safety improvement activities globally, with a focus on North America. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct process safety assessments, reviews, and evaluations for equipment, processes, and procedures at client facilities or remotely. You will also develop and propose practical risk-reducing tactics, recommend testing when necessary, and assist clients in interpreting and applying technical information relevant to their facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process safety assessments and evaluations to OSHA and PSM standards
  • Review and apply best practices and code requirements from various standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, FM Global, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with clients and the consulting team in a timely and continuous manner
  • Follow up on new opportunities and prepare quotations for prospective clients
  • Collaborate on team projects and work independently on projects or tasks
  • Develop technical reports as required
  • Perform technical reviews for peers, including marketing papers, presentations, and reports

Requirements:

  • BS (or Higher) in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or a related safety field
  • EIT or safety-related designation preferred (CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in process safety
  • Experience with Combustible Dust, Flammable, and/or other Hazardous Materials is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of safety-related areas (PSM, RMP, combustible dust, chemical reaction hazards, flammable liquids/gases, etc.)
  • Strong personal communication and leadership skills

Physical and Travel Considerations:

  • Ability to work in various client locations, environments, and conditions
  • Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as client activities are scheduled
  • Domestic and/or international travel required, estimated up to 50%
