We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Cytopathologist to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert diagnostic services in Cytopathology, including fine-needle aspiration (FNA) and surgical pathology. You will also be expected to participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education, as well as pursue scholarly activities and/or clinical, translational, or collaborative research. The department provides academic effort for an initial 3 years, allowing our new faculty to develop scholarly and educational activities aligned with their interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert diagnostic services in Cytopathology, including FNA and surgical pathology
• Participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education
• Pursue scholarly activities and/or clinical, translational, or collaborative research
• Contribute to the development of a subspecialty area of Surgical Pathology
• Collaborate with colleagues to advance the department's academic and clinical mission

Requirements

• Board eligible/certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology
• Strong diagnostic skills with fellowship training and experience in Cytopathology
• Interest in development of a subspecialty area of Surgical Pathology
• Evidence of academic productivity and potential for scholarly activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
