Position Summary

As an Educational Assistant Substitute, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in a classroom setting. Your duties will include:

• Performing a variety of clerical tasks to support the educational process
• Assisting teachers with instructional activities and providing one-on-one support to students
• Preparing and disseminating instructional materials
• Monitoring and supervising students during activities
• Recording student progress and behavior

Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

• Confer with teachers and assist in preparing lessons
• Monitor and supervise students engaged in activities
• Record student progress and behavior
• Tutor students on a one-to-one or small group basis
• Prepare lessons and instruct students on specific topics
• Assist in the health room when the nurse is absent
• Supervise lunchroom, classroom, hallways, and recess yards
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and complete purchase orders

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have at least two years of post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours or 48 semester units
• Or, have an associate's or higher degree
• Or, meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics
• Be able to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations
• Have bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience (strongly preferred)
