The Member Experience Core Systems (MECS) Live Discovery team innovates and maintains new features and capabilities for Live titles, which are pushing the boundaries of our capabilities.

We are looking for an engineering manager to lead a team of engineers focused on evolving the Live experience for our members. You will play a highly cross-functional role partnering with product management, design, personalization, operations, data teams, and other engineering teams to innovate on the Live experience and ensure successful live events.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the architecture, design, and execution of product and infra innovation.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap focused on incremental delivery and high business impact.
  • Lead the operations of Discovery Systems for high-profile Live titles
  • Communicate progress effectively to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership.
  • Provide thought partnership for product and design partners.
  • Hire, mentor, and grow a diverse, high-performing team, fostering an inclusive team culture.

What we are looking for in you:

  • An engineering leader with 3 - 5 years of experience leading backend distributed systems teams.
  • Experience with innovation, working directly with product and UI teams.
  • Ability to operate launches and navigate challenging situations just-in-time.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to act as a technical advisor to the team.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for building high-traffic distributed systems.
  • A passion for improving consumer experiences through strong partnerships with product leaders and the ability to influence product direction and roadmaps.
  • A track record of hiring diverse, highly talented engineers and growing successful, highly impactful teams.
  • Excellence in communicating context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership. Ability to drive the team’s roadmap by connecting the dots between your team’s work and business needs, managing expectations, and navigating competing priorities.
  • A leadership style that prioritizes giving and receiving feedback, fostering new ideas, and empowering others without micromanagement.
