Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering, organizing, and preparing source documents for data entry into our secure system database
  • Reviewing data for discrepancies, missing pages, or information and resolving discrepancies using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution
  • Entering both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database
  • Reviewing data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correcting any data entry errors or duplications
  • Following data program security practices and procedures at all times
  • Routinely securing information by completing database backup daily
  • Performing other varied clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the team leader

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in a Medical Office: While experience in a medical office is preferred, it is not required
  • Tech-Savviness and Attention to Detail: You must be tech-savvy and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to focus on accuracy and precision
  • Computer Skills: You must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone systems
  • Software Proficiency: You must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet
  • Typing Skills: You must be a qualified typist with a minimum of 40 W.P.M.
  • Communication Skills: You must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions where clarification is needed
  • Confidentiality: You must be able to maintain confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Team-Oriented Environment: You must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented environment
