About arenaflex and the Opportunity

arenaflex is a forward-thinking technology and customer experience organization that partners with leading brands across the aviation, travel, and digital services sectors to deliver best-in-class self-service solutions. As part of our continued investment in product innovation and engineering excellence, arenaflex is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Manager of Self-Service Product Engineering to lead a talented team of engineers focused on building, scaling, and supporting customer-facing self-service platforms that power millions of interactions every year.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where your technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people-first management style will directly shape the future of how customers engage with self-service technology. If you are passionate about building high-performing engineering teams, driving product delivery excellence, and creating technology that makes a real difference for end users, arenaflex wants to hear from you.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Self-Service Product Engineering serves as the strategic and technical authority for a defined portfolio of products within arenaflex. Reporting to senior leadership, this role carries full accountability for planned initiatives, large-scale projects, ongoing IT services, product delivery outcomes, and team leadership. You will lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary group of Lead and Senior Engineers who are focused on delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable self-service products to customers worldwide.

Beyond technical oversight, you will be a visible leader throughout arenaflex, building strong cross-functional relationships, partnering with product management and marketing, and helping shape the long-term product vision and technology roadmap. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on technical challenges, presenting to executive stakeholders, and coaching engineers through complex problem-solving scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Ownership: Manage the complete lifecycle of assigned products—from ideation and architectural design through development, deployment, ongoing support, and eventual retirement—ensuring each product delivers consistent value to customers and the business.
  • Team Leadership and Coaching: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Managers, Lead Engineers (including technical leads), and individual contributors, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Engineering Culture: Establish and promote a workplace environment that attracts top talent, develops careers, and encourages technical innovation while maintaining focus on product goals and customer outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management and marketing teams to shape the product vision, define roadmaps, and ensure alignment between customer needs, business objectives, and engineering execution.
  • Technology Roadmap: Develop and own the technology roadmap for products in your area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Standards and Best Practices: Drive the development of engineering standards, guidelines, and frameworks that elevate the quality and consistency of how IT products are built and supported.
  • Architecture and Design: Establish architectural frameworks, design patterns, and integration approaches that guide software development across your team and the broader engineering organization.
  • Financial and Resource Planning: Develop, maintain, and report on financial budgets and resource plans for your area of responsibility, ensuring efficient and effective allocation of talent and investment.
  • Operational Support: Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues affecting portfolio applications, with continuous visibility into system health, incidents, and service-level performance.
  • Environment Management: Oversee production and non-production environments through disciplined change control management processes.
  • Compliance and Risk: Ensure all engineering practices align with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Organizational Alignment: Partner with other Engineering Managers across arenaflex to drive alignment, share best practices, and identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation.
  • Talent Development: Play a critical role in driving and educating direct and indirect team members to support engagement, growth, and the execution of career progression plans across the IT organization.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational success.
