About the Role
The Company is in need of an Assistant Vice President Underwriter Territory Manager for General Casualty. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of underwriters who specialize in various premises-driven risks, including habitational, hospitality, lessors risk, and real estate. This role involves underwriting both new and renewal submissions, maintaining underwriting standards for profitability, and fostering relationships with wholesale brokers. The candidate must be prepared to make sound risk decisions, negotiate terms, and drive the use of technology to enhance business processes. Additionally, the role includes market engagement and occasional travel to support the marketing of the company's insurance products. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of experience in underwriting general casualty lines, and a proven track record of team leadership. The ideal candidate will also have the CPCU designation or have completed other relevant industry coursework. Key requirements include the ability to balance growth and profitability targets, establish and monitor performance metrics, and ensure team compliance with underwriting authority and state regulations.
