Compensation Pay Range:

$15.58 - $23.37

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD Intern to join our Machine Learning & AI team. This role is ideal for a PhD student passionate about advancing the frontiers of artificial intelligence and applying novel machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems. As a Intern, you will contribute to cutting-edge research and help translate innovative ideas into scalable solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Build, test and deploy machine learning and deep learning models for the auto retail industry, using both traditional methods and advanced techniques for massive unstructured datasets (e.g., text, image, video).

Analyze structured datasets, conduct feasibility tests, and evaluate modeling approaches through experimental comparisons.

Generate accurate predictions and ensure solutions align with the target metrics specified by business requirements, and are scalable for boarder applications.

Employ BigQuery for efficient data querying, transformation, and analysis to enhance machine learning workflows and generate actionable insights.

Utilize Generative AI techniques to analyze and interpret results, develop insightful visualizations for effective storytelling, and communicate findings clearly to a broader audience.

Design, implement, and evaluate A/B testing frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of the models and data driven solutions in real-world scenarios.

Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. business analysts, software engineers, and product managers) to identify opportunities for machine learning applications, and deliver impactful solutions.

Ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency of deployed machine learning models while adhering to business requirements.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

REQUIRED

In the process of obtaining a PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field with a strong academic track record.

Demonstrated excellence in research or academic projects related to machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, or data science.

Proven programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages and familiarity with SQL.

Knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. GCP).

A solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow or PyTorch).

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Domo or Matplotlib).

Familiarity with ETL pipelines and working with large-scaled structured and unstructured datasets.
